An earthquake opens a fissure deep into the ground and shatters a LosAngeles morning that is peaceful. As a volcano begins forming in the La Brea Tar Pits, the manager of this city's emergency management assistance, Mike Roark, dealing together with geologist Amy Barnes, has to then use every resource from the city to attempt to halt the volcano out of absorbing Los Angeles.
